CHARACTER
Name: Kikumaru Eiji
Journal: kikumaru-beam.dreamwidth.org

Appearance: Eiji would like to point out that he does not still look like a fourteen-year-old boy, though you’d be hard pressed to find ten people to agree with him. He still has his acrobat figure, and still wears his hair in carefully styled flippy curls (but he tries to keep up with most of the latest trends and will totally try out new stuff if he feels like it!)

Personality: Outgoing and cheerful to a fault, Kikumaru Eiji can and will try everything in his power to make you his friend. Eiji is a spur of a moment person, brimming with energy, thinks on his feet and looks at the consequences afterwards. On the flipside, this means he isn’t as quick to notice things as he ought to be, and becomes his own worst critic when things don’t go the way he wants them to. His confidence stems from being recognised and appreciated, and he wilts under a lack of encouragement. Eiji can come off as being airheaded, especially when he doesn’t quite think his words through before speaking, but he cares about his friends and will readily jump into a brawl with anyone who says otherwise.

Biography: Eiji had always thought of college as something other people did, and definitely not in line with his dream since he’d been fourteen – of becoming a movie stuntman. A dream that did not deflate in the least, but grew over his years at high school and transformed into something altogether more awesome, in Eiji’s opinion. He was going to become a star on a sentai show. To get on one of those, though, he needed a little more training than playing gravity-defying tennis alone could provide.

With this aim, the help of a few well-chosen pamphlets from his parents, and the dedicated tutoring of his friends, Eiji enrolled in a performing arts course in a private university in Tokyo. He is now entering the second year of the course, and has managed to move out of his crowded family home. Deciding to live in Basil Gardens, one of those buildings owned by those two guys from Yamabuki that he and Oishi had utterly destroyed in their match back in middle-school. Eiji works part time in a cat café because who says some dreams can’t come true early.

RP Samples: Eiji frowned at his theatre exercise partner for the day. They were supposed to being doing trust-falls as a warm-up. Trust-falls! Those were like the first thing people learned when they started doing theatre stuff, right? Eiji wasn’t sure if he was really good at acting, or dancing, or any of that, but he sure as hell knew how to fall backwards in the complete belief that he would be caught.

Until now, because his partner had dropped him both times they’d tried and Eiji was starting to think it was on purpose. He hopped to his feet, rubbing his sore behind, and tried to give his not-nearly-sorry-enough looking partner an encouraging smile. “I dunno if you’ve never done this before,” he said, “But the idea is to catch your partner before he hits the ground!” His partner nodded, and Eiji spun around, ready to fall again. “Here I come!”

When he fell on his backside for the third time that night, Eiji sighed, ducking his head into his arms. He gave his partner a sidelong look and hoped his grin wasn’t too wicked. “Maybe we should try it the other way around~”
