Appearance: Niou hasn’t changed since junior high school. His hair likes to change length, depending on how recently he’s had it cut - which can sometimes be a questionably long time - but otherwise he’s the same.
Personality Trying to understand Niou is like trying to catch water in your hands. The harder you try, the faster he’ll slip through your fingers. He’s mercurial, bright, and has continued to live up to his nickname from junior high as a petenshi. Niou acts overly dramatic and rarely takes things seriously, regardless of the situation he’s in, but it’s when the act drops that Niou should probably be watched the most closely.
Biography: Niou disappeared for a year after high school, and tales of his adventures during those 12 months change every time someone asks. Since then, he has returned to Japan, setting up residence in Tokyo in the attic of an old lady’s house, though he walks her dog every day in exchange for the wifi password. He’s currently studying a degree in pure mathematics, working at a second hand bookshop as a part time job where he dresses as someone different every day to make it seem like the store has a large staff roster.
RP Samples: Niou glanced up as the bells on the door jingled, pushing up his glasses slightly with two fingers. “Welcome,” he said, turning the page of his book and putting on a bland smile that matched his tone of voice. What didn’t really match the tone of voice, bland smile and boring outfit he was wearing, was the gas that escaped him in that moment. The illusion dropped for a moment as Niou laughed to himself and he bit his lip as he stared down one of the customers looking at him. “Oh dear, how impolite of me,” he said, before he had to disappear behind the counter to laugh.

Appearance: still the same.
Personality: In summary, Shiraishi is a very serious and confident perfectionist, who still knows how to have a good time and relax. He's a very understanding person, who tends to lock away his own negative feelings away to not drag others' moods down. There's also something about his charisma that lets him talk to others to make them face their problems and keep going forward when they need it. By all means, he's not a bad person, even if sometimes he might act like the bad guy in order to keep someone in line.
Biography: Shiraishi quit tennis pretty fast after leaving Shitenhouji. He mostly played for the team, not for himself, so he saw no reason to pursue a career. He went to high school in Osaka, but decided to go to Uni in Tokyo. He is currently studying botany at the University of Tokyo. After a while, he started working at a small flower shop and joined a dancing club to pass freetime. Currently he's living in the Basil Gardens.
RP Samples: Shiraishi liked to have routines. He would get up early in the morning and go for a jog. Usually he ended running to the nearby shrine to watch the morning sky from there. After that he returned home and had some tea before heading to school, work or elsewhere for the day. He went out for a jog even while it rained. One time his routine was abruptly disturbed by the sound of a small kitten in a box, shivering in the rain. It felt like something out of an anime, this meeting, as he bent down and took the little guy out of the box to keep him warm and and shelter him from the rain.
It was one of the rare days Shiraishi didn't run to the shrine and instead turned around to head towards home.

Appearance: Still the one with the hair and the resting bitch face, just older with more piercings.
Personality Zaizen is one of those people who is more social online than in real life; he spends most of his time in public wearing headphones. Despite this, he is a loyal friend once that relationship is earned. His likes include music, dessert, and blogging anything and everything. He has a low tolerance for bullshit, stereotypes, and vending machines that don’t carry red bean soup all year round. Secretly, he loves his nephew.
Biography: First of all, Zaizen started using dreamwidth before it was cool. But rewind from there -- he continued with tennis and was captain of the Shitenhouji team in his final year of junior high school. As a high school student, he joined the team with those among his senpai who participated and played up until his final year of high school. When he quit, he said it was to study for exams, but he just didn’t want to be captain again. To pursue his dream of working in the music industry, Zaizen moved from his family home in Osaka to Mikiya Mansion in Tokyo.
Although he misses his young nephew, Zaizen is keeping himself plenty busy with class at Tokyo University of the Arts, his late night radio show, and the occasional DJ gig. He continues to blog regularly, and moved his personal blog platform over to dreamwidth.
RP Samples:
Zaizen groaned at his laptop and leaned back in his chair. Why was everyone suddenly on dreamwidth? Even Shiraishi had joined the platform. Probably some of his professors had joined, too. Who would be next -- Tooyama Kintarou?!
No, that would just be crazy.
Pushing his headphones down to his neck, Zaizen arranged his hair clips to keep his long, unstyled bangs from curling toward his eyes. He took a slow breath. Something could be done with this; if life wanted to toss some lemons his way, well, he wasn’t about to get bored just staring at them.
His fingers hit the keyboard.

Appearance: He looks pretty much the same as in the anime series (carmine hair, lilac-ish eyes). He kept his weight down from ShinPuri, his hair is slightly shorter and messier. Sadly, he hasn't grown much, so instead of 165, he is 169cm. He has a tattoo he got when living abroad on his left arm/shoulder, but he tries not to show much of it when in Japan.
Personality: Laid-back, Marui enjoys the simple things... eating sweets, playing, eating more sweets, sleeping. He isn't very fond of responsibilities and if he can delegate any to others he will. Even tho he is turning 21 soon, he is not very mature, still enjoying his comics, plotting fun things and keeping life exciting. Despite blaming others when things don't go his way, he is a very loving and, usually, kind person. There is a certain arrogance to him as well, however, whether or not it comes from the heart not even he knows. He is still very sure of his genius, tho,... both tennis and music skills (able to play almost any instrument).
Biography: Before his 3rd year of high school, Marui parents thought he should gain life experience elsewhere in the world. They thought he was too settled and his life was mainly tennis, eating and looking after the brothers, so they send him away, slightly against his will. He wanted to stay and finish high school with his mates, but his folks were having non of that. Since he was very close friends with Jackal, he moved to Brazil where he stayed with some of Jackal's relatives for 3 years, finishing high school and entering university. He studied music and languages (Japanese and Portuguese) for two years, then moved to the UK where he studied English for a year. He has just returned to Japan and is doing some short access courses to be able to start in the 3rd year at Waseda studying Japanese, Portuguese and English.
During high school he started a band and had one or two bands ever since. Every other year he returned to Japan to see his family and maybe his old friends if they had time for him.

I go away for a couple of years (ok, 4), come back, and my favourite bakery is gone!? How? Why? This is so uncool. Maybe they moved... I will need to do some investigating, but it's not there right now and I'm sad, I was really looking forward to their cherry layer cake :( Either way, I'll be studying at Waseda and wouldn't be able to go there as often as I did in high school, so it means I need to find another favourite place closer to uni and dorm.
Still haven't been able to catch up with anyone, (so if you are for some reason seeing this journal, HI!) there is so much to tell you all I don't even know if I can be bothered! XD
I have a month or so of access courses before I start my 3rd year so I moving my stuff into my dorm this afternoon. Volunteers to help me being my stuff up are welcome and needed. I will pay you in krispy kreme.

Appearance: Same as in current canon, although he sometimes elects to wear contacts.
Personality: Irie is praised by his professors for his excellent bedside manner. Acting, it turns out, does have its practical applications in the medical world. Take that, aunt who said he was wasting his time. He generally acts friendly and welcoming to all, but still enjoys pulling the occasional leg. He has to vent all of the stress from his schoolwork somehow. Very few of his relationships are genuine, but he would go to great lengths for those that he truly considers his friends. His friends are often unsure as to whether or not they are, in fact, friends. He exemplifies his university's motto of "self-reliance and self-study." Though he often trades favors with people, he makes a point of truly relying on nobody but himself (and, on occasion, his older sister).
Biography: Irie quit playing tennis after the U-17 World Cup; he's satisfied with having played at the international level in high school. He kept in contact with a few people from the Japanese U-17 team via e-mail, but nobody from his actual high school, having taken a social media hiatus upon graduation which surprised everyone, given his, uh, attention seeking tendencies. He's only recently joined Dreamwidth and started to reconnect with people. He's currently in his sixth and final year at Tokyo Medical University, with the intent of eventually becoming an orthopedic surgeon. In his off time, Irie gives private music lessons to children in the area. He currently resides in Basil Gardens, having moved there at the beginning of his 5th year.
RP Samples: Irie bows solemnly, not a centimeter's difference from the appropriate height. "My apologies, but I'm afraid that I will no longer be able to continue your daughter's lessons once my university's summer break begins, as I'll be away for my internship. I am in my last year, after all." He pauses. "I have enjoyed teaching her these past few years, though. She really has improved quite a lot."
He turns to leave, but is stopped by a small hand clutching his wrist. He turns around and squats, making eye contact with his student. She wipes a tear from her eye. "Don't worry," he says soothingly, "I know you'll be the star of the brass band in middle school. Kanata-sensei taught you everything he knew."
He stands up again, winking at her mother, before walking out of the apartment. His shoulders droop from their previously impeccable posture as soon as the door closes behind him. He wipes his glasses on his shirt before descending the stairs to his bicycle below.

Appearance:
An hasn't grown much in height, and remains rather petite only standing at 156 cm but one thing that has grown is her hair. She keeps it shorter in the front and past her shoulders in the back. Occasionally clipping it up. So far she has maintained it long for the past two years but she could change that.
Personality:
An hasn't changed all too much since Junior high beside maturing and also mellowing out. Still an outgoing and cheerful person, she can be rather quirky and doesn't mind showing it.
She considers herself a hot head at times but for the most part she's learned to not get angry over certain things and has learned to go with the flow. It doesn't mean she can't lose her cool every once and a while.
Biography:
After graduating from Fudomine she went on to study at Seigaku for high school. While juggling tennis and school she began to study for her University exams and managed to make it into Keio University. Choosing a university and a major to study had not been easy for her but once she started making a list of pro and cons, she decided that she would study Psychology, The human mind had always interested her so it seemed like the right choice.
As of now she is currently about to start her second year of psychology. An has also been in the Tennis club at Keio since her first year. She has no aspirations to become professional but enjoys being able to compete in her university and still occasionally plays on the street courts.
When she’s not practicing or studying, An works at a second hand bookshop with a colorful array of workmates who are one in the same (Niou) from a man who goes by ore-sama to a man who says adieu quite to many times.
An continues to live with her parents as a way to cope with costs and being able to save up more money.
RP Samples:
So far the day had been slow, no one had come in since the start of her shift but between her workmate and the new books they had received she could keep herself busy enough. Even if Niou was dressed up as one of his more simple characters.
Placing a book on a high shelf she heard a soft jingle from the front. Finally at least someone new to attend to. Smiling to herself she stepped down from the step she used to reach the higher shelves and proceeded to walk to the front only to stop when she embraced the the fart that her bespectacled cowoker dropped on them all.
Gross.
Maintaining her smile she looked towards the customer and quickly moved them away from area and closer to the more mustier smelling books. That would do.
As she finished attending she went back to her coworker and raised an eye brows. "Please, if you're going to fart at least keep it outside, Niou-Senpai." An finished non-nonchalantly.

Appearance: Puberty hit Kintarou like an eighteen-wheeler going at 200kph. He's 176cm tall and, though he still has a relatively scrappy build, he's obviously an athlete. He's what the kids call "ripped." He's grown his hair out a little longer and attempts (key word: attempts) to tame it into a short ponytail. His face is somewhere on the cusp between cute and handsome (until he opens his mouth, at which point it just becomes annoying).
Personality: He's matured since middle school, but he's still as excitable as ever. A lot can change in six years, but a lot stays the same. He has a tendency to keep talking even when nobody is listening and tries to pursue friendships long after the other party has rebuffed him. Children love him and he loves them back. Although he's gained plenty of respect and established himself as a key player on the Japanese tennis scene, he's also a notorious maverick and had difficulty being scouted, as few wanted to handle a personality as forceful as his. He has an extremely unfortunate love for memes.
Biography: Kintarou has never held a leadership position, even on the tennis court. Nobody with eyes, not even Osamu, would trust him with one. His parents cracked down on him in high school and he started to attend tutoring sessions to get his other subjects up to a passable level. He's the first in his family to attend a university, but he's only managed to because Keio scouted him, one of the top ranked high school players in the nation, to play for one of its tennis clubs. He's currently majoring in Education Studies, mostly for the opportunity to work with kids.
Kintarou is attempting to mitigate his debt with a combination of need-based scholarships and two part-time jobs: one as a busboy at an Osakan restaurant near Mikiya Mansion, where he resides (his parents deemed him unfit for living with a roommate), and one as an assistant instructor at a tennis school. The restaurant mainly pays him in free food.
He plans to go pro after he graduates (although he frequently considers dropping out of university and preemptively going pro). He's primarily going to university because his parents insisted after he was given the opportunity to attend Keio.

Appearance: Not much has changed in canon, although he's grown slightly taller (now 6'3" instead of 6'2" from how he was in high school).
Personality: Laid-back and cheerful are not words one would use to describe Kazuya Tokugawa. He's stern, stoic, and barely shows any personality that people might even think he has no emotions whatsoever. That's not the case, though. He just keeps to himself! He's actually a very emotional person, but his private nature prevents him from being open with them. There are people he cares about but he's not one to show it through conventional means. While "tough love" is not something he participates in, he's still the type of cold person who would rather tell the person bluntly what they need to improve on rather than coddle them.
Biography: Tokugawa pursued tennis professionally after high school, skipping college entirely. He moved back to Paris as suggested by his parents as the playing field there is much more fierce (or so they think) compared to Japan. Being there challenged him a lot and turned him into an even better player and person, but an unfortunate incident where he injured his knee happened and he had to take a break from playing tennis for half a year or so, depending how speedy his recovery will be.
Now, He lives with his family near the Tokyo Medical and Dental University where he attends his rehabilitation. He spends his free time now that he doesn't play tennis coaching children. He still manages to work out so long as he doesn't strain his knees. His manager suggests that he make a Dreamwidth account so his fans don't forget him. He's not very good at it.
RP Samples:
Vengeance is not foreign to Tokugawa now. It's been part of most of his high school career, after all: to be the best and defeat Houou Byoudoin. That's all he wanted... now that it's been years, he should learn to let go, and yet, here he is as he witnesses two children argue over the other's loss. It seems one of them was thoroughly beaten by the other and the other wants a rematch right away, even though he is so close to injury.
"Don't," he finally says, interrupting the other child and holding him by the shoulder. His gaze is frosty and almost emotionless, but the line that his lips have formed slowly curl into a faint of a smile. The children won't be able to see it, but he's clearly making an effort here. "Don't, unless you want to end up like me. You will injure yourself."
It seems the message is made clear because the child who lost relaxes, but he still has a frown on his face. He thanks Tokugawa after that and shakes the other player's hand, but the winner doesn't seem to be interested and instead slaps the offered hand and walks away. Both Tokugawa and the child who lost look at the back of the winner with a scowl on their face.

Appearance: While Hirakoba continues to wish for a growth spurt (it will definitely come when he’s 30), he has remained the same since canon.
Personality On first meeting Hirakoba, it’d be easy to assume that he’s a nice person. He’s friendly, social, and outgoing with a propensity for physical contact. However, Hirakoba is also a product of his upbringing and the coddling of his family: selfish and spoiled, manipulating others to get his way, which, he always gets (eventually).
Biography: Following the wishes of his grandmother, Hirakoba moved to Tokyo for high school, stopped playing tennis and focused on his studies. He continued into studying at the School of Law at Waseda. He’s currently living alone in Ebisu and spends far too much time trawling through bars and restaurants there when he should be studying. But as long as he continues to get through his degree, his grandmother’s willing to turn a blind eye and fund his somewhat ridiculous lifestyle, so Hirakoba’s reluctantly going along with it still.
RP Samples:
Hirakoba fished out the sprig of mint from his drink and dropped it onto the napkin, turning the page of his textbook. Maybe heading to the bar to study hadn’t been the best idea, but he’d needed to get out of his apartment which was feeling more and more cramped with every paragraph he read, the lounge was still quiet early in the evening, and he had a corner booth, for prime isolation. The drink was just because he’d ordered it before he could stop himself.
He glanced up to follow a waiter as they walked along to a table, lingering on the man’s ass before he stabbed his pencil onto his page. No, he had to focus on the words in front of him. And then perhaps he could people watch and finish his drink, he didn’t have that much left to read. Hirakoba exhaled loudly and his eyes refocused back on the lines about business law.
… Maybe he’d finish his drink first.

Appearance: Momo will be a bit buffer from all the working out in junior high and high school. He'll also be taller now, reaching 5'8".
Personality: There isn't much change in Momo compared to how he was in Junior High. Still as energetic as ever, he has this inclination to be liked by everyone and befriend everyone. He doesn't have natural charisma like other former teammates (Eiji or Fuji, for example), but he's friendly and has an upbeat and optimistic attitude. Of course, he can still be hot-blooded if provoked, and he's still the same guy who repeats some parts of his sentences.
He enjoys burgers and also has a knack for getting into trouble... even if he's in university now. :') He tries to get into the latest trends so he can bond over it with people, too. It's not him trying to please everyone but it's just how he is. He wants to be trendy for the fun of it.
Biography: It was in high school that Momo realised that pursuing a tennis career wasn't for him. He's good, but he always gets injured and he concludes that he's better off doing something unrelated to tennis or stay in the tennis world upon graduating university, but not just as a player.
Figuring out what he wanted to do was pretty tough! At first, he considered coaching, but he realised that he's probably too nice. He was told that before, after all! It's why he decides to take up Sports Science as his bachelor's degree, intending to be a sports therapist upon graduation. He thinks it'll be fun, and he can tease people if they ever do stupid things like overexert themselves. (He's totally not projecting.)
While schooling, so he doesn't trouble his parents, he has a part-time job at WcDonald's. He totally doesn't get paid in burgers. (He gets free burgers.) He also stays at Basil Gardens since the lodging is cheap. Bless.

Appearance: (if it has changed since canon.) Not much different, though his hair sometimes grows out a bit if he hasn’t had time to visit the barber. If it’s hot or he is working on something he wears terrible hairbands or a crocodile clip to keep his bangs out of the way. Nerd level 200%.
Personality: (At least one paragraph, just so we can get an idea on how you will play the character.) Yanagi is generally quite calm and observant. He picks out and remembers small details. He’s not so free with spouting data and statistics these days, saving them for pivotal moments to achieve maximal effect (always aiming for that 1-hit-KO). While outwardly serious and polite, he has a mischievous side and enjoys subtly poking and teasing people. You just can’t be 100% sure he’s doing it on purpose.
Biography: (What has your character been up to in the past 6 years since canon? And what are they doing now? Where are they living?) Yanagi, to no one’s surprise, did very well in high school and was admitted to Tokyo University, where he is finishing up a degree in Statistics. He is planning to further his studies with a Masters or PhD. While he still plays tennis, it’s only for recreation and exercise. He currently lives in Mikaya Mansion. To afford his book and tea habits, Yanagi works a part-time job at an adult toy store, where his placid, disinterested expression puts potential customers at ease.

“Welcome to Kinky Kimochi, and please feel free to browse,” Yanagi intoned, as the latest customer stumbled through the doors.
With Valentine’s right around the corner, the shop had been fairly busy. This particular customer was nervously rubbing the back of his neck and unable to look for long at the various displays, a classic first-timer. Yanagi amusedly watched him go in circles for a little while before approaching and gently steering him towards the “best-sellers for beginners” rack, where he proceeded to sell the man three different toys, a bottle of massage oil, and a variety pack of flavoured lubricant with the ruthless efficiency of a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman.

Appearance: Kamio has grown up a bit and filled in around the shoulders, but he’s still a lithe runner with out of control bangs and terrible fashion sense.
Personality Kamio fits the stereotype of a mercurial redhead. Although he’s quick to anger and get in your face, he’s just as quick to smile broadly and jump to your defense. He values his friends strongly and often puts himself in the protector position, particularly with regard to Tachibana An. Sometimes he jumps to erroneous or wild conclusions, but he readily admits it when he’s wrong and willing to apologize and forgive as necessary.
For someone with such a volatile temperament, Kamio has a long memory. He will never forget that bike!
Biography:
Kamio loved playing tennis with his friends in middle school. The entire team missed Tachibana when he graduated, but he had a fantastic time with the rest of his teammates in their third and final year at Fudoumine. Those two years were and are very important and formative for Kamio. Despite not playing tennis in high school, he carried on the Fudoumine spirit in the technical high school that he attended. At that school he learned the basics of business, life skills, and different ways to work with his hands. But he felt that those methods didn’t bring out his best rhythm. When his parents expressed concerns about affording his sister’s tuition to college for nursing, Kamio was quick to quit school and volunteer to help.
He worked wherever he could find work and moved into Basil Gardens to save money. Kamio was a line cook at a ramen shop, washed dishes at a host bar, took night shifts at the convenience store, and tried his hand at construction. Although he didn’t mind any of those things -- they came with people and with people came camaraderie -- he found that he most enjoyed working jobs that required delivery. At the pizza place, he could listen to music while working and deliver faster than anyone else! The pizza shop even started promising delivery in 30 minutes or less! Kamio felt very accomplished making those deliveries and, eventually, started to wonder if that was enough.
It was and it wasn’t. Kamio decided that he was going to have his own delivery company, that handled anything and everything about fast and safe transport in Tokyo. After a few years of working and helping his sister out with college fees, Kamio was eventually able to afford a moped. With that, he could really start getting in the rhythm of his own business!
RP Samples:
Kamio left the office victorious. Everything was notarized, he had established his deposit, and his business was registered and official! Because his sister was at school and his parents were a bit farther away, Kamio sprinted like the wind to the nearest possible person who could listen to his bragging and feel happy for him. When he had to stop for lights and crossing students, he jogged in place and updated his dreamwidth journal to advertise the official opening of his business. Surely he might even start getting customers!
“An-chan!” he beamed, spotting the college student walking Gokutora as he approached the Tachibana family home. “Guess what?!”
An smiled at him with indulgence and stopped to listen to his excitement. “An-chan, it’s official now. My business is registered and everything.” He showed off the piece of paper and looked away to clear his throat before announcing with pride in heavily accented english, “Kamio Comes Quick.”
An-chan covered her mouth, struggling to hold back laughter. Kamio’s puffed up chest slowly deflated and his concern elevated astronomically. Finally, she said, “Kamio-kun, I think you spelled it wrong.”
“I know,” he blinked. “But it sounds faster if it’s spelled with fewer letters.”
And then An-chan leaned in close to explain what his error in English actually meant. As it sank in, Kamio’s face turned vibrant red, like his hair. He was mortified. Moments of wanting to be sucked into the ground and stay there turned into minutes. An-chan put her hand on Kamio’s shoulder and he cursed, “Dammit!”

Appearance: He hasn't gotten much taller since middle school, but keeping up his martial arts training diligently means he’s maintained and improved his muscle tone nicely. He’s expanded his selection of eyewear and has gone through a variety of different hairstyles. Currently, his hair is just long enough for a small ponytail, while he is trying to settle on what kind of hairstyle he wants to try out next.
Personality: As a somewhat dangerous blend of ‘my way or the highway’ and ‘go big or go home’, Kite is prone to tunnel vision and can be quite overbearing where the people he considers his friends are concerned. His ego bruises easily, and he has trouble actually acknowledging his own faults or losses, which occasionally manifests in long-lasting grudges.
A few years of close scrutiny and actual decent coaching have mellowed out his knee-jerk response cheating habits, though depending on the situation (and the likelihood of being caught) he doesn’t shy away from hitting below the belt entirely.
Biography: After finishing middle school Kite accepted a foreign sports scholarship and completed high school at an international school on Hawaii.
Instead of continuing his studies after graduating he dived straight into competing professionally, deciding he could always return to school later. While he performed well enough to more than comfortably live off his winnings, his ‘always the bridesmaid, never the bride’ relationship with the bigger titles he played for took a hit on his ego, and he decided to take a break from tournaments and return to school.
He’s only just getting settled in Basil Gardens, and is preparing to start his first semester at Bunka fashion institute soon.

While I appreciate the assistance(?) in finding a place to stay in Japan, I already found a place that meets my needs for the time being.
That said, I figure it’s rude to let your hard work go unmentioned, so hereby a comprehensive list of lovingly highlighted features in the advertisements you forwarded to my email that I do not actually need:
1. A sauna that can fit 6 people.
2. A luxury built-in cat jungle gym. (You may have noticed I own exactly zero cats.)

Appearance: The only difference between junior high and now is that Yukimura's gained a few cm. Other than that, everything else is the same.
Personality: For the most part, Yukimura can be kind and gentle, but he also can become quite formidable when pushed. He has a tendency to be blunt, regardless of how it might affect others around him. He's very protective of his team and those he has formed close relationships with.
Biography: After graduating from high school, Yukimura decided to go pro. It became clear rather quickly that he wouldn't be able to keep up the strenuous pace of a professional tennis schedule with needing to take off time in between tournaments for treatment. Annoyed and angry at his body for betraying him, Yukimura came back home and studied to get into the Tokyo University of the Arts, majoring in painting and aesthetics/art history. He's about to start his second year. While he might not have been able to maintain a pro career, he can still play tennis and does so at the university level. He works part time for a florist -- he oould never give up gardening -- and lives in the apartment above the shop.
RP Samples: Yukimura finished arranging the flowers, a few roses, lilies, and strategically placed baby's breath. He stepped away from the vase and looked at his handy work. It looked pretty good, but was missing something. He went to the selection of daisies and clipped some. Finishing with a complimentary ribbon, Yukimura set the arrangement in the window, confident it would be gone by the time he closed the shop for the day.

Appearance: Ibu has grown a few centimeters and trimmed his hair a bit, but other than that everything is the same.
Personality: Ibu tends to talk to himself quite a bit even when other people are around and doesn't seem to notice the looks people give him. He keeps his emotions hidden for the most part unless something or someone pushes just the right button. He values his friends a lot and is not concerned with teaching people a lesson if someone hurts one of them.
Biography: After Tachibana-san graduated, Ibu continued to play tennis, a desire to make his former buchou proud. He continued through high school too for the same reason.
Having graduated high school, Ibu is no longer playing tennis on a team, but does still play on occasion to let off some steam. He is attending the Tokyo Institute of Technology, majoring in physics, and lives in Basil Gardens because that's where Kamio lives and he wanted to be near someone he knows. He helped Kamio with the paperwork for his business to make sure everything was in order, but didn't comment on the name, hoping Kamio knew what he was doing.
RP Samples: My friend Kamio has a delivery service called Kamio Cums Quik, but I don't think he recognizes that the spelling of his service is a double entendre. He's very innocent so I doubt he knows or even realizes what kind of hole he's put himself into, but that's not really my problem. I suppose I could mention it to him, but that seems like a lot of trouble and he would get upset and I wouldn't want Kamio to get upset. He's a very good friend of mine and he deserves to be happy. I think his delivery service makes him happy. At least, I really hope it does. He told me he named his scooter "Tachibanana-San" and that made me laugh. It's yellow, but not as yellow as Tachibana-san's hair used to be. I wonder why Tachibana-san changed his hair color. Not that black hair doesn't suit him, but I am used to him being blond and it was kind of a shock...

He looks much the same, just without the hat. And his old man clothing esthetic has become much more in style so he’s unintentionally trendy with the hipster crowd.
Personality:
Sanada is hard working and focused on his goals. He doesn’t believe in doing something unless you’re going to put your full effort into it. But he still has time for his best friends (Best rivals). He’s more reluctant to give his time up for others but he can be talked into things. He has learned some anger management so he is less likely to slap people he’s angry at or disappointed in. His sense of humour, when he shows he has one, is a bit dry and he may miss when you’re teasing him back.
Biography:
Sanada spent high school much the same way he spent junior high school; focusing on tennis, his team, his studies at home with his family, and finally his studies at school.
Because of three years of competitive high school tennis, his knees cannot safely hold up for a full agressive match and he had to spend more and more time rehabilitating them in his final year of high school. It was because of this, and with great reluctance (and some fear) he told Yukimura he would not be continuing tennis in university beyond a friendly game with friends. He still goes into Tokyo for special rehabilitation once a month and more if he has been pushing himself and his knees are acting up.
He has switched the entirety of his sports focus to kendo. He finds it doesn’t put the same strain on his knees as long tennis matches if he’s careful. He has also excelled at in the past few years and has moved up in rank and competitive standing. He’s now one of the top kendo players in Japan. He is also on the committee that is lobbying to have it recognized as an Olympic sport. Sanada believes if judo (the Tezuka family’s sport of choice) is an olympic sport than there’s no reason why kendo shouldn’t be. Because of his involvement on the committee he has had to focus more on learning English and speech giving. He also sometimes travels abroad which has given him a bit more of a world view… though he still thinks the traditional Japanese way for most things is the best way.
And because during high school, studying for classes was often last on his list of priorities, he decided to take the opportunity attending Rikkai High School gave him and attend Rikkai University without having to take an entrance exam. He’s studying in a general business degree with all of his electives being used on Japanese history and literature.
As he’s attending Rikkai University and focused on kendo, he elected to live at home with his family. Though because Sasuke is going through extra annoying teenage years and his brother decided to have two more children who are somehow even noisier than Sanada ever thought possible, he’s happy to find any excuse to spend time with his friends out in the city or at their apartments. He especially enjoys hanging out with Yukimura or Yanagi as they can easily pass the time pursuing their own quiet interests without it feeling awkward or forced.
Despite enjoying the freedom that university gives him, Sanada is still more likely to be found sitting on tatami and writing calligraphy or in the dojo practicing his kendo than out late at night in the city or at parties. He is quite disciplined in his schedule and strict hours he keeps though he is willing to bend it more for friends than he did when in high school.
RP Samples:
Sanada took a deep breath and dipped his brush into the black ink before carefully bringing it up and over the paper. In a few deliberate strokes he will have finished a new wall scroll. It had a seasonal flower theme to the words and Sanada thought Yukimura might like it. But it all relied on perfecting this last kanji.
He released his breath, brush poised and inhaled as he put the brush to paper. The first stroke was perfect, the second flowed across the paper like liquid art, the third we- Loud music blasted from the room beside him and he jerked, causing his brush to smear across the paper.
“SASUKE!” Sanada yelled. He tossed the brush down on the ruined paper and jumped to his feet, prepared to storm over to his nephew’s room and remind him for the third time this week that blasting music was not acceptable. But he stopped himself at the door and took in a deep breath. He closed his eyes and thought of Yukimura how he had last seen him, showing the latest batch of flowers to come into bloom to Yanagi. He let out his breath and took several more.
Once he was sure he would no longer strangle Sasuke or toss his speakers into the family pond, he walked across the hall to have words with his nephew. He was two strokes away from perfection and he would make Sasuke understand that upsetting the tranquility of the house at his age was unacceptable.

Appearance: Pretty much the same Akaya everyone knows! He's quite a bit taller now, around ~177cm, and as such has filled out accordingly (he is solidly-built; not like Sanada-tier but still solid, somewhat at odds with his cute face), but that's just about the only difference.
Personality: While Akaya has matured somewhat over the past six years, he's still definitely himself. A casual, open person with a confident-bordering-arrogant air to him, Akaya is an extrovert who likes making friends. While he can still be a bit dense, his wit and knowledge are a lot sharper than they were in middle school. Dealing with emotional problems still isn't a strong suit and his thin skin remains, however. Provoking him isn't anywhere near as easy as it once was, but getting him truly angry is still probably a Bad Move. In his free time he likes hanging out and playing video games or chatting online. After spending too much time sulking in America after one disappointing US Open, he has a voracious addiction to the shittiest tier of light beer.
Biography: After being calmly reminded that language was an important skill for a pro tennis player, Akaya really buckled down during high school. After getting past his initial disdain for study, he found himself actually enjoying English. Keeping the rest of his grades up to scratch was still an issue, however with some determination and quite a bit of assistance Akaya graduated with a fairly decent set of scores. As a result, he is currently studying International Relations (very) part-time at Waseda University. He isn't doing so well, but it's good for his image.
Speaking of his image, Akaya naturally pursued a pro tennis career. He has done quite well for himself, having participated in several Grand Slams over the past three years and gathering a stash of minor titles to his name. After a particularly commanding victory over a local favourite at this year's Australian Open and a resultant showing in the semi-finals (losing 3-2 to a particularly irritating German player), he has developed a decent fanbase and has solidified himself as a real contender for future wins. Akaya plays more fairly these days, relying on his blistering pace and power - a significantly less amount of blood hits the court, though occasionally a stray shot might collide with a knee every now and then. Accidentally, of course.
Unfortunately, the Golden Age of tennis being the way it is, he's facing down competition from familiar Japanese players as well as International threats. Currently he's hovering around world no.35 due to his recent success. He also has a small following as a video game streamer, known for being absolutely awful at Tekken but pretty good at Smash and Pokemon. He lives alone in a rented apartment, but finds that it gets lonely sometimes.
