Since the game is 6 years ahead of canon, 1st years would be entering their first year of university, 2nd years their second, and so forth unless for some reason they decided to take a gap year or two, which would have them starting later. Please keep in mind that your character does not necessarily have to attend university, but if they choose to, we've gathered some information below to help you get started.
The University Schedule
Some schools will end a few days before or after but it will remain similar to this:
Summer semester - April 1 to July 31
Summer (First term) Examination Week June 1 to June 8
Summer (Second term) Examination Week July 24 to July 30
Summer break - August 1 to September 20
Autumn semester - September 25 to February 1
Autumn (Third term) Examination Week November 27 to December 4
Winter break - December 28 to January 4
Autumn (Fourth term) Examination Week January 24 to January 31
Spring break - February 1 to March 31

Examples of Universities in Tokyo
Players are free to use these as examples, or choose other options in different areas other than Tokyo/greater Tokyo. Please keep in mind that the farther away you go, the more difficult it will be to interact with other characters.

Tokyo University:
The University of Tokyo also known as Tokyo U and sometimes abbreviated as Tōdai, is considered to be the most prestigious university in Japan. It's 5 campuses are in Hongō, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane and Nakano (all of which are separate districts in Tokyo). It has 10 faculties: Agriculture, Arts & sciences , Economics, Education, Engineering, Law, Letters, Medicine, Science, and Pharmaceutical Science
Tokyo Institute of Technology:
Tokyo Tech is the largest institution for higher education in Japan dedicated to science and technology
Examples: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science , Engineering, Computer Science
Tokyo Medical & Dental University:
Tokyo Medical and Dental University is part of Japan's national university system. Tokyo Medical and Dental University offers bachelor and graduate degrees in medicine, dentistry, and related fields.
Waseda University:
In addition to a central campus in Shinjuku, the university operates campuses in Chuo, Nishitokyo, Tokorozawa, Honjo, Kitakyushu. It has 10 faculties: Letters, Economics, Law, Business and Commerce, Political Science, Science and Technology, Human Science, Social Science, Sports science, and Education.
Keio University:
It has 11 campuses in Tokyo and Kanagawa and 10 faculties: Letters, Economics, Law, Business and Commerce, Medicine, Science and Technology, Policy Management, Environment and Information Studies, Nursing and Medical Care, and Pharmacy.
Clubs & Activities
Each university will have clubs, just like in Junior and High school. Characters are free to join whichever club they desire, anything from Tennis to Theater. It's whatever they'd like to choose.
If they choose to play a sport, they will regularly play against other local teams and characters. Those games and their outcomes are at the discretion of the players involved to decide.
